- If your child cannot attend a session then JaZ are unable to offer a refund/catch-up session for this missed class. For consistent progress, regular attendance is recommended.
- If JaZ have to cancel a session then there are a few options (you can find this information in our terms and conditions policy);
- If the session is cancelled prior to any payments being made then this amount will be deducted from your invoice.
- If the session is cancelled on the day, once payment has already been made then we will issue either a refund for this lesson or you will be offered a catch-up session to replace the cancelled one. Please note: if a catch-up session is offered then a refund will not be applicable.
- If you are unhappy with your lesson or something about your lesson then please get in touch with us right away at enquiries@jazswimschool.com and we will try and resolve your issues promptly. We can look for alternative lessons where we have space, but we will do everything possible to fix the issues you have when they come up.
- Each lesson is 30 minutes long (with the exception of squads and adults) and in this 30-minute session there will be a warm-up (5minutes), swimming drills and main lesson (25minutes) and games/jumping etc (5minutes). The structure may vary depending on each individual lesson.

- No you do not have to get in the water with your child as our teachers will be in the water, but you do need to remain on poolside during the lessons.
- Your child can join our lessons from 3 years of age.
We issue the renewals around each half-term. Once you have received your renewal, you can contact us to inform us you do not want to return and we will cancel your place. Please note: if you inform us that you are not coming back for another term, your place is open to our waiting list so if you do decide later that you have changed your mind, we cannot guarantee that the place you did have will still be available to you.
- Swimming Costume & Swimming trunks (Appropriate for lessons), Hat, Goggles and lots of enthusiasm.
- No it is not. Within our classes there are 2 or 3 awards so whilst they may not have moved up a class they may have achieved other awards within that.
- If you log in to your Soakly account you will be able to see what level your child is on, what skills they have achieved and what they still need to work on. You can also contact the office for more information
- Chickenpox – your child may only return to swimming once all the spots have scabbed over
- Vomiting & Diarrhoea – please wait 48 from last episode before coming swimming
- Runny nose but feels well – Yes your child may come swimming!
- Diabetes – Yes your child can absolutely swim but the office must be informed of any requirements or allowances that need to be made (sugary drinks on poolside etc) and signs for the teacher to look out for. If they use a Dexcom or Libre sensor etc, please ensure the mobile to monitor is within range on poolside. Please also note that you are responsible to remain on poolside to monitor in case your child’s sugar levels dip/rise.
- Eczema – Yes your child can swim with this if they are comfortable and it does not cause them pain (unless your doctor has advised you against it). Showering before and after swimming can help.
We aim to maintain consistency so we ask all our instructors to commit to a whole term when joining us so that the children have the same coaching every week. There may be occasions where there is staff sickness where we will provide appropriate cover and if a teacher leaves at the end of the term then a new instructor will be introduced. We also on some occasions in a new term, will swap groups around so they experience different teaching styles, especially if they have been with a teacher for a long time but this is rare.
We hire staff with an STA level 2 award in teaching swimming however, we provide training for all new teachers to JAZ so you may sometimes see a new teacher shadowing lessons occasionally.
Yes. You do have to stay on poolside for the duration of your child’s lesson. If you would like to step out for a few minutes, please ensure the instructor is aware and you are right outside in case they need to call on you or in case of emergency.
Our office is open Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm. If you need to contact us outside of these hours urgently (regarding your lessons in the evenings or weekends) you can do so via Facebook Messenger.
